35 Schools compete in the Bulldog Invitational Track Meet

Athletes competed in the Okmulgee Bulldog Invitational track meet on Friday in some very chilly weather. Okmulgee extended an invitation to many other school in Oklahoma to participate in the meet. Thirty-five school came to compete in the event.  The invitational is one of the best high school track meets to see some of the best track and field athletic abilities.  Competitors enjoyed the amenities of the new Harmon stadium updates and the eight lane track.  There were four divisions held in the boys and girl’s class of relays and field events.  (See VIDEO moment below)

Ponca City's coach Lee Guest commented on their decision to join in the event,” Coach Panky and the athletic director Kevin Gordon are, "two of the best coaches in the area this is the reason why he brought our Ponca City team down here.”

Okmulgee will compete in Ponca City in two weeks.

Paul Orosco takes a look at some pole vaulting in a 9 feet vault made by Beggs senior Cassy Rice. In this event the bar is raised 6 inches each time until last vaulter is left.Cassy beat her record of 9' by jumping 10' this time.
