It's all about Basketball this week with all hometown county teams!

BB 1Preparations are underway in Okmulgee, as city retailers are prepared for the 2015 Okmulgee County basketball tournament.

All 8 of the Okmulgee county area teams have converged on the city for the tournament that begin Monday January 19 and continues through Saturday January 24.

Okmulgee merchants busy themselves in preparation as they ready their places of business and their inventories in anticipation of county teams and their followers.

The tournament will feature some the best young talent in the state of Oklahoma and is guaranteed to provide fans with matches fueled by long time county rivalries.

The Preston Pirates enter the tournament as the early favorites and expect to compete for tournament championships in both the girls and boys divisions.

Also featured will be teams from Morris, Beggs, Henryetta, Dewar, Wilson, Schulter and host Okmulgee.

In the first round on Monday night the Morris Lady Eagles took a seamless win over the Dewar Lady Dragons, Beggs Golden Demons won over Dewar Dragons, Beggs Lady Demons won against the Wilson Lady Tigers, and the Henryetta Knights took hold of the Morris Eagles for a win.

Tournament organizers expect great large crowds on hand as fans throughout the county gather to cheer on their favorite teams.
