Coach Marlon Houston and his wife LaKinda will join the faculty at Okmulgee Public Schools this coming year. The couple was recently hired and have established a home in Okmulgee with their 4 children, Marlon Jr.,  Madyson, Maximus and Mallory.

Marlon will be the new wrestling and assistant football coach as well as teaching classes. LaKinda will be the new second grade teacher at the Primary school and is already getting settled in with a brand new gardening plot gifted by Primary teacher Sylvia Bagby.

Okmulgee Middle School, new or current students, will hold enrollment during these times (Current student will get to sign up for classes.) :

8 a.m. to 1 and Tours will be given at noon.
4 to 8 p,m and tours given at 7 p.m.

This will be a great time to meet the new principals according to the Okmulgee PTO group.

Free hot dogs & drinks will be given away, plus other activities such as a 20 foot slide.

The following school uniform dress code will be required during regular school hours, on school days. [Approved updates are underlined]

During extra curricular activities in the evening or weekends the standard school dress code applies (School uniform not required). All college concurrent and Career

Tech students must be compliant with the uniform policy before returning to the Okmulgee Public School campus.

Lower garments

1. Khaki or black colored slacks, shorts, skirts, or capri pants;
2. Dress belt in black, brown, tan, or cordovan.

"Khaki" in this case means TAN or BEIGE in color

Lower garments must be worn at the waist line ( no sagging)

PANTS MUST BE SNUG - no more than two fingers width may be between waistline and body.

Pant length must be no higher than 1" above the ankle or longer than the top of shoe ( Proper formal dress length) and may not be tucked into socks.

Shorts and skirts cannot be more than 6" above knee or a dollar bill length above knee Capri pants must be of a formal dress style ( no pajama, spandex,
leggings, Jeggings, or casual style capris)

No slits or holes allowed

All lower garments must have belt loops ( no draw string garments or elastic garments)

Upper Garments

1. Polo style shirt with a collar;
2. Solid colors only in red, black or white
3. No commercial logo allowed;
4. Shirts must be tucked;
5. Long or short sleeve is acceptable.

Morris School enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd and Thursday, July 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Cafetorium.

All students, returning or new, must fill out an enrollment packet before being allowed to attend school. All students must fill out the lunch room free and reduced paperwork before an enrollment pack will be handed out. Returning students will need to bring current proof of residency (ie. utility bill), CDIB card (if applicable) and any shot record updates. New students will need to bring current proof of residency and CDIB card (if applicable).

Please note, enrollment packets will not be accepted until all appropriate forms have been signed and all required information has be provided.

Okmulgee Jr Football will host a sign-up registration for football players and cheerleaders in grades Third thorugh Sixth on Saturday July 12.

Registration will be across from the Okmulgee Tennis Courts behind the Okmulgee Primary School. Time is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Okmulgee Jr Football is also looking for volunteers. Those interested are urged to complete volunteer application for assistant coaching or team mom/dad immediately, volunteer applications will be available at registration.

Now enrolling 3 and 4 year olds for the Okmulgee Head Start 2014-15 school  year.

Head Start is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families. Our program provides children with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally and physically.

Services for children with special needs and disabilities are also provided.

Head Start offers free breakfast, lunch & snacks, transportation to/from doctor’s appointments (if needed) and a family support advocate.

Teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education.

The Okmulgee High School cheerleaders recently attended the cheer camp at Tulsa University.  While at camp the squad received superior rating for cheer and dance.  The squad was awarded the UCA Leadership award.  The Bulldog mascot received superior rating and game day champion.

Everyone is invited to come out this Fall and watch the Bulldog Cheer team in action during football games.

The cheer team is now selling their Bulldog Discount cards for only $10 in order to raise money to purchase new uniforms for OHS cheer.  

These cards will bring you savings at many Okmulgee participating businesses and can be used over and over again for a full year.

The OHS cheer team will be also be hosting a car wash on Friday the June 13 at Walgreens.  Look for them, get a car wash and support these hard working girls!
