Superintendent Tod Williams updated the School Board Members on building projects for the school district. Williams, Rusty Helms and Sean O’Brien met with architects and other professionals and went over a large stack of architectural drawings.
"Things are coming along with all of these projects. We expect ground breaking to be in about three (3) months,” Williams said.
When reveiwing plans for the Band Room Williams stated, “Things are going swimmingly!”
Williams reported that they went over the placement of smartboards, projectors, network ports and getting digital network cabling from the Suddenlink hub over to that side of the street. Additionally they talked about repairing the roof on the Armory specifically making sure the downspout replacement is correct.
“Yes, it is going to happen!,” said Williams, enthusiastically about the remodeling of the Harmon Field locker room that is getting showers and bathrooms.“It is going to be phenomenal!”
The plumbing work is designed for the middle of the building which is the co-ed weight room and is on schedule.
He reported on the “Secure Vestibule” (lobby) in the Middle School where visitors cannot get any further without being buzzed in.
The Middle school roof is complete; they are going to start the roof on the gym immediately as there are a couple of leaks that are coming from the heating and air conditioning unit. He estimated a completion date of all projects in roughly six (6) months but will check into further.
