Fred William Landgraf Obituary

Fred William Landgraf, 81 a member of the Prairie Bell Community, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in his sleep, March 8, 2017, in Okmulgee. Fred was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 29, 1935, to Arthur Ernest and Marie Bertha (Eifert) Landgraf. He attended Cape Girardeau High School and later attended Oklahoma State Technical College, where he graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree in Agriculture.

Fred raised chickens and sold eggs to many local grocery stores in Okmulgee. He also sold eggs to many friends and neighbors. After closing his egg business, he went to work at Oklahoma State University Technical College. He worked in the Ground Maintenance Department for 22+ years. He retired in 2001 as Ground Maintenance Supervisor at OSU TECH. He received an A Standard of Excellence Employee Award in 1992. This award was treasured by Fred, since employees voted who should receive it every year.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He served Trinity as an officer, a choir member and many other areas of the church. He married his wife Ruth Lillian Bogie Deem at Trinity, on August 25, 1991.
Fred enjoyed spending time with his family, he is survived by his wife Ruth Landgraf; and step-children Lisa Cline (Tom), Eric Deem, Anita Allen, and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his sister Lida Mueller of Brenham, Texas; and brother Jim Landgraf of Scott City, Missouri; nephews Tom Mueller (Pam) of Katy, Texas, and Jeff Mueller of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; three great-nephews and one great-niece.
Visitation will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m-6:00 p.m. McClendon-Winters Funeral Home 303 East 7th Street, Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p. m. on Monday, March 13th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 East Sixth Street, Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Pastor Christian C. Tiews of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Fred Landgraf’s name to “Trinity Lutheran Church”, Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Weeta Joycelyn Tucker obituary

Weeta Joycelyn Tucker, 80 year old resident of Okmulgee, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 in Okmulgee. She was born April 23, 1936 in Paola, Oklahoma to the late James Claude and Mary Florence (Keener) Whitaker. She married Clyde J. Tucker on July 3, 1953 in Purcell, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2011. Weeta was a Charter Member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Morris, co-founder of AGAPE Pregnancy Center and was a member of the Baptist Village Bell Choir. She was also a Red Hatter and formerly active in the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce. Weeta was a longtime Okmulgee area real estate agent. She cherished the time she spent with her family.

Weeta was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eleven siblings.

Survivors include three sons, Mark Tucker and wife Lori of Okmulgee, Rick Tucker and wife Sherrie of Wayne and David Tucker and wife Debbie of Davis, a brother, Stanley Whitaker of Baytown, Texas, sister, Betty Shanahan, five grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Richard Kerr officiating. A private family interment will follow. Casket bearers will be Brian Tucker, Steven Tucker, Nathan Gassen, Robert Doughty, Danny Lesley and Troy Caudle.

Memorial contributions may be made to the AGAPE Pregnancy Center in Weeta’s memory.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

Phyllis Jean Qualls obituary

Phyllis Jean Qualls, a longtime resident of Dewar passed away Wednesday, March 8th, 2017 in Dewar at the age of 82. She was born January 12, 1935 in Dewar, Oklahoma to Link Fred Shoun and Bertha Louise (Hale) Shoun. She worked for many years at Ball Brothers Glass Company in Okmulgee.
She married Matt Floyd Qualls April 21, 1979. She was a member of Dewar First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Link & Bertha Shoun and one son, Gary Don Summers.

She is survived by her husband, Matt Qualls of the home in Dewar;
Three children: Brenda Bible & husband Lewis of Henryetta;
Matt Corey Qualls of Oklahoma;
Paul Brett Qualls of Lake Eufaula;

Mark Craig Foster obit

Mark Craig Foster passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Tulsa at 58 years of age. He was born July 2, 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Jimmy D. and Helen Dorothy (Henson) Foster. Mark attended Okmulgee High School and was a truck driver for many years. He was a 32 Degree Mason. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, A.C. and Helen Henson. He is survived by numerous cousins, including Donald W. Henson of Okmulgee.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta.

Reverend Bill Delso and Donald W. Henson will officiate.

Richard Leroy Roach obituary

Richard Leroy Roach passed away Sunday morning, February 26, 2017 at his Beggs residence. He was 84 years of age. He was born June 6, 1932 in Beggs to the late Burton Neal and Rosie Marie (Bell) Roach. He graduated from Beggs High School and joined the U.S. Air Force. Richard worked for many years at Lear Siegler Service, Inc. as a Production Manager before retiring as a maintenance mechanic from Kelco May 31, 1993.
He married Bonnie D. Parham on August 21, 1976 in Arlington, Texas. Richard was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, the Beggs Masonic Lodge, Guthrie Scottish Rite and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donald Neal Roach and a sister, Hallie Geraldine Smith.
Richard is survived by his wife Bonnie of the home, sons Philip Roach and wife Shannon of Houston, Joshua Roach and wife Audrey of Sapulpa and Garry Roach and wife TeShauna of Beggs, a sister, Bonnie Mears of Jenks, grandchildren, Brooks Roach of Austin, Texas, Brett Roach of Norman, Allie Roach, Kylee Roach and Zedekiah Roach, all of Sapulpa, Haley Roach of Norman and Aidan Roach of Stillwater, step-grandchildren, Whitney Bible and husband Kory of Keifer and Timothy Hicks and wife Braidee of Glenpool and a step-great granddaughter, Briley Bible.
A funeral service for Richard will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Crossroads Baptist Church with Reverend Travis Markes officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Tim Hembree, Buz Henson, Larry Harvey, Aidan Roach, Brett Roach and Jimmy Wesley. Honorary casketbearers will be Johnny Hereden, Bill Chambers, Ronnie Green and Dan Kohler.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and the family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Jimmy David Kelough obit

Jimmy David Kelough, a resident of Weleetka passed away Friday, February 24th, 2017 in Oklahoma City at the age of 65. He was born November 22, 1951 to Eugene Kelough & Louise (Barnett) Kelough.

Jimmy was a rider and horse trainer and loved anything to do with rodeo or horses. He was a member of the Thlopthlocco Tribal Town.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Louise Kelough, two sisters, Donna Satawake & Barbara Gail Kelough, also by one brother, Tony Kelough.

He is survived by his wife Gaia Kelough of the home;
Two sons, Jascha Hubbard of Tulsa;
Lee Jay Hubbard & wife Valerie Hatfield of Oklahoma City;
Seven granddaughters;
Three sisters, Jean Meade & husband Jerry of Weleetka;
Patricia Zismer of Weleetka;
Loretta Dover & husband Billy of Weleetka;
Two brothers, Eldon Kelough & wife Viola of Bryant;
Cort Evans Kingman & wife Rebecca of Bryant;

Eddie C. Howard obit

Eddie C. Howard, lifelong Okmulgee area resident, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Hillcrest South Hospital in Tulsa. He was 86 years of age. Eddie was born December 17, 1930 in Okmulgee to the late Elice C. and Minnie May (McCullough) Howard. He graduated Valedictorian from Nuyaka School in 1949. He joined the United States Army in 1952, serving in Germany, and received an honorable discharge in 1954. Eddie received his B.S. Degree in Accounting in 1959 from Oklahoma State University. He married June (Fleming) Franklin on June 13, 1959 in Okmulgee. In 1966, Eddie graduated from the Southwestern School of Banking in Dallas. He retired from Citizens Bank of Okmulgee as a Vice President. He enjoyed gardening and serving others. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee where he was active in the B.A.L.L. Group, serving as Tour Chair for 17 years and President, leader of the R.A. Group, taught Junior Boys Sunday School and Men’s Bible Class, was active in the Building Committee and was instrumental in the building of the new sanctuary, and served on several pulpit committees. He was also active in the Nuyaka Alumni Association, having served as an officer, former Treasurer of the Optimist Club, and former Treasurer of the Creek Indian Memorial Association.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Burkett Crawford.

Survivors include his wife June Howard, of the home, sons, James “Jim” Franklin of Collinsville and Glen Howard and wife Serap of Bethesda, Maryland, brother, Gene Howard and wife Virginia of Tulsa, couisin, Rosalee Clifford of Okmulgee, grandchildren, Zach and Kendra Mark of Sapulpa, Steven & Lacie Franklin of Tulsa, Kevin Franklin of Tulsa, Kenneth Carpenter of Hurst, Texas, and Matthew and Katie Carpenter of New York, great grandchildren, Crew Franklin and Reed Franklin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Glen Howard, James Franklin, Kevin Franklin, Stephen Franklin, Lee Wilson and Zack Mark. Honorary casketbearers will be Henry Stone, Jack Tyree, David Carson, Charles Otto and Gary Mount.

Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.

Marshia "Sue" Chisholm death notice

Marshia "Sue" Chisholm, a lifetime resident of rural Henryetta passed away Saturday, February 11th, 2017 in Okmulgee at the age of 79. She was born May 5, 1937 in Henryetta to Barney Hawkins, Sr. and Verna (Earnhart) Hawkins. She married Billy Joe Chisholm February 8, 1957 in Henryetta. She was a longtime member of the Henryetta Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Chisholm, her parents and one brother, Barney Hawkins, Jr.

She is survived by two daughters:

Emily Violet Morris obit

Emily Violet Morris, a longtime resident of Henryetta, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in Okemah at the age of 76.  Emily was born on September 13, 1940 in Henryetta, OK to Harley Wilford Vancil and Dora Lillian (Boyd) Vancil.

Emily grew up in Henryetta, where she attended St. Michael Catholic School, where she graduated from High School.  Shortly after high school, Emily married James Buddy Morris in Texas.  Emily was a hairdresser by trade and owned and operated Emily's Beauty Shop in Weleetka for approximately 10 years.  She later worked in several Oklahoma City area beauty shops including Malihini's Beauty Shop in Oklahoma City where she served as manager for over 15 years.

Emily was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution organization and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Henryetta.  She loved genealogy and had traced her family roots back extensively.  She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she will be missed by the many people who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; a grandmother, Sally Green; and a grandchild, Stephanie Taber.

Emily is survived by two daughters, Cheri Hare and Beverly Ogden, both of Henryetta; by five grandchildren, Mike Morris, Chad Hare, William Hare, Shannon Dillon, and Shelby Ogden; by eight great grandchildren, Zaelon Hare, Kaeson Hare, Bretton Hare, Noah Hare, Eli Hare, Wade Hare, Makayla Morton, and Waylon Dillon; by a brother, William "Bill" Leon Boothman of Ft. Smith, AR; a sister, Glenda Jean Rolan of Oklahoma City, OK; a brother, Harley "Skip" Vancil; other extended family and many good friends.

Viewing for Emily will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Integrity Funeral Service from noon until 5:00pm. A wake service for Emily will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta with Fr. Peter Phung officiating.   

A funeral service for Emily will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:00pm at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Phung officiating.  Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
