Miss Oklahoma crowned 1st Runner-Up in Miss America's Outstanding Teen

Miss Oklahoma's Outstanding Teen, Ashten Vincent fared very well this week in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2014 being crowned first runner up next Miss Florida Leah Sykes who took the title this year.  The crowning took place on Aug. 17 in the Linda Chapin Theater at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Vincent earned a $12,000 scholarship subsidized by Ronald Brouillette. Her talent performance was a Vocal and her personal platform is "S.E.R.V.E. - Students Encouraging and Recognizing Volunteer Efforts".

Vincent made stride throughout the competition. On Aug. 14, Vincent was named Wednesday night's preliminary Talent winner for her vocal performance "Bring Him Home" during the second night of the competition. Vincent received a $500 scholarship provided by Togatae Designs.  Then during the third night of the competition, Vincent was again in the spotlight winning the preliminary Evening Gown/On-stage Question. Ashten received a $500 scholarship provided by Regalia Magnificent Apparel.   

Miss America's Outstanding Teen (MAOTeen) is the "little sister" organization of the Miss America Scholarship Organization. This not-for-profit program has made available more than $4 million in college scholarships, in the past eight years, nationally to young women from 13 to 17 years of age. America's Outstanding Teen offers accomplished teens the opportunity to be awarded funds for college. The program promotes scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America's teens.
