Morris Community Action will hold "Stuff the Bus"  beginning August 15 and running that Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This is a time when the community can join in and help students in need with back to school supplies. 

Supplies can be dropped off at the Morris State Bank or you can drop off at a local business.

Supplies needed: 

Boxes of Kleenex
16 count Crayola crayons and 24 count crayons
10 count Crayola markers (classic colors)
Bottle of Elmer’s glue
Glue sticks
Play-Doh brand Play-Doh (4 pack)
Pocket folders w/fasteners
Clear backpack (regular size with name on backpack)

Kindercare mat – Plastic Wipe-off (red/blue color) with name
Box of Crayola water colors

It's Spring-cleaning time in Okmulgee!

The Okmulgee Main Street and the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a "Keep Okmulgee Beautiful Day April 26, beginning at 8 a.m.

The event is entirely reliant on volunteers that are needed to canvas the Okmulgee downtown district for this group effort clean up.

Downtown Okmulgee is evolving and growth is coming, the community is needed to help maintain the revitalization that has been achieved so far by keeping it clean and beautiful. With the help of citizens, businesses owners, churches and organizations, together Okmulgee can make our city look its best. Groups are encouraged!

Bring your brooms, dustpans, garden gloves and shovels and help us get our downtown in tip-top shape! Volunteer a few hours to clean debris off Okmulgee's streets and walkways. Coffee and Donuts will be served for breakfast to volunteers.

This may be your time to step up, recruit more volunteers and make Okmulgee a more beautiful place to live, work and play.

Okmulgee Downtown Clean Up Day

Blake Bolerjack will be in concert at the First Baptist Okmulgee tomorrow morning.  Due to the weather situation the evening concert that was planned has been cancelled.  However, the full concert will be during the morning service at 10:30 a.m.

Everyone is invited to come and enjoy this FREE concert and you will be blessed. Blake sings a mixture of Southern Gospel favorites, inspiration and Christian Contemporary styles. He may also share his testimony. For more info on this concert, you may check out blakebolerjack.com.


Okmulgee , Okla. – Okmulgee County Emergency Management invites Amateur Radio Operators (HAM Radio Operators) to gather at the at the County EOC on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 10:00 am.

Emergency Management recognizes the service and value radio amateurs provide to their communities by assisting in times of need.

Several Amateur Radio Operators already lend a hand to emergency management today, serving as storm spotters and emergency communicators.

This meeting is in partnership with Amateur Radio Emergency Service-Oklahoma, SKYWARN, and Okmulgee County Emergency Management.

HAM Radio Operators interested in helping in times of need are invited to the Okmulgee County Emergency Operation Center at 10:00 am Saturday morning. Coffee and donuts will be served at this brief meeting, which will include a tour of the EOC and the communications room – which is equipped with state of the art amateur radio equipment.
